2010 - Lupane Debate Society was founded, the commitee comprising of Vusumuzi Maphosa, Micheal Mhlanga and Celesile Ndlovu
2010 - attended the first Zimbabwe National Debate Championships at the University of Zimbabwe as a society for the first time
- attended the Pan-African Universities Debate Championships at the University of Namibia
2011 - attended the ZNDC and all teams managed to break into the octo-finals, three teams to the quarter finals while one team made it to the finals, the team that made it to the finals was made up of Micheal Mhlanga and Ndabezinhle Zondo and were awarded with gold medals.
- Pofela Ndzozi was crowned the Best Adjudicator for the tournament and was crowned a gold medalist making it three gold medals for the team LSU
- for the above accomplishments, the society was awarded the best improved team in the tournament
2012 - attended the ZNDC in Mutare and all teams managed to break into the octo-finals, quater-finals, and two to the semi-finals
- Micheal Mhlanga was crowned the Best speaker for the tournament
- LSUDS was crowned the Best Perfoming University and the Best Overall Perfoming Institution
